A Passion for Environmental Studies

There is something that's quieting and calming when we take time to submerse ourselves in the natural surrounding. What is of even more interest and drive for me is the way that different groups get access to natural resources and the way in which these resources are utilized. Dr. Baptiste seeks to use this interest to explore environmental justice and natural resource issues in both a scholarly and applied manner.

Climate Change: Voices of the Vulnerable

Climate change has been touted as one of the most challenging environmental stressors that currently face the global community. The most vulnérable communities however are those that are marginalized and who lack the capacity to withstand the impacts of climate change.

 

Service Trip: Putting Theory into Praxis

The academy has been touted as an ivory tower, however many academics have began to step outside of the tower and have began to look for avenues to build relationships with community members, non-governmental organizations and the wider public in order to take their teaching and scholarship to a broader audience.
